Spirit and in Truth?

The word “matter” translates in the Hebrew to “dabar” which means “word”.

When we study the parable in Matthews 13 it presents the “dabar” or the word as a seed that is planted. The Greek translation for the word is “logos”. To the extent the seed falls in good soil it brings forth a new form of appearance or an avatar. As the plant grows it matures to yield fruit in splendour. This brings glory to the plant.

Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory of a king.

As the plant grows it matures to yield fruit.

This parable represents the process of being born again. The seed, or word, is hidden in the soil that provides a space for it to germinate (die) in order to bring forth a new creation. If the seed was not hidden in the soil it was carried away or scorched by the sun or it could hardly grow, dying because of it lying on hard rock.

It is therefore essential that the seed is hidden inside the soil. Besides that it is inside an

environment in which it can germinate, it is also safe.

When we study Genesis and see that God created humans in the image of God there is a reason for it. The design of a spirit-soul living inside a body provides “soil” that is favourable for the “dabar” or “logos” to bring forth the glory it is destined to do.

When the “dabar” of God is placed inside the spirit –soul of a born again human it is destined to bring forth a design that will bring glory to the spirit-soul of that human. The seed speaks about DNA or a pattern or a design; it is also referred to as the message written on the scrolls of the spirit-soul.

The works predestined for the born-again spirit-soul are the fruit of the “dabar” and should bring glory to the spirit-soul of the human.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship: created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.” NIV

The glory on the spirit-soul is there for several reasons:

  1. To cover the spirit-soul. (Genesis 3:7))
  2. To make the spirit-soul presentable in the presence of the Most Holy God ( Leviticus 11:4 … be holy for I Am holy)
  3. To serve as a sacrifice of worship when the spirit-soul stand as a son of God – a King. (Rev 22:26)
  4. The glory draws the presence of the Lord Himself and the presence of angelic beings to surround it. (Heb. 1:7, 7:14 and Zachariah 2:5)

Without glory there is nakedness

Genesis 3:7-10

“Then the eyes of both were opened and they knew that they were naked… and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said, where are you? And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself”

Adams nakedness was more than merely physical. At the time he was answering the Lord he had clothed himself with fig leaves, yet he still claims to be naked. Thus his spirit-soul was naked. The state of being naked results in shame covering the spirit-soul and not the glory of God.

For the born again spirit-soul this change happens when he/she is baptised.

Galatians 3:26-27

You are all son of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”

Why then should we be clothed with Christ?

The spirit-soul needs to be presentable in the presence of the Most Holy God. Leviticus 11:4” you shall be holy for I Am holy”

1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, “you shall be holy for I am holy”

When the spirit-soul of a born again believer carries on it a design to accommodate or manifest the presence of the Most High God it does not mean it shall be so. The temple was defiled several times when the wrong protocol was used by the priest or when idols and abominable images were found in it. To be holy and clothed with Christ the spirit-soul needs to submit its vessel be used in honour. Not all spirit-souls that are born again are vessels of honour. It is possible but for some it is not yet operational.

2 Tim 2:20-21

“if a man therefore purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and fit for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work

To be a vessel of honour speaks of being spirit-soul that is clothed in the glory of God.

When a spirit-soul is presented in glory he/she may enter the presence of the Most High God to worship – beholding Him in the beauty of His holiness.

Psalm 96:9-11

“O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him all the earth”(NKJV) “Worship the Lord in holy attire; Tremble before Him all the earth” (NASB)

The word “attire” is translated into Hebrew as “hadar” meaning “adornment” or “glory”.

The spirit-soul that stands as a being covered in the Glory of Christ stands as a son of God in His presence. The spirit-soul is presented as a king that may present his glory as a sacrifice of worship. Those in the presence of the Lord worship Him when they say “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come!”(Rev 4:8)

Revelations 21: 23-24

“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.”

  1. Glory draws the presence of the Lord Himself and the presence of angelic beings to surround it. (Heb. 1:7 and Zachariah 2:5)

Zachariah 2:5 “For I, said the Lord, will be to her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her”

I believe that in this passage in the book of Zachariah we find a vision of God’s relationship with the bride of Christ. In Revelations 21 the Bride is seen as a city as is the case in the book of Zachariah.

The following designs are the manifestation of God’s presence or ownership of the ecclesia:

  1. He created her and new her from the beginning of the creation of her spirit-soul. Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…”
  • He paid the price to redeem her from her corrupted designs that had covered her spirit-soul in her blood filled with iniquities, sin and rebellion.

Ezekiel 16:6 “And when I passed by you and saw you rolling about in your blood, I said to you in your blood, Live! Yes, I said to you still in your natal blood, Live!”

  • His love for her urged Him to pass by again… and He loved her so much that He betrothed Himself to her… This is old covenant talk that led the way for what came in the time of the new covenant.

Ezekiel 16:8 “Now I passed by you again and looked upon you; behold, you were maturing and at a time for love, and I spread my skirt over you and covered you

nakedness. Yes I plighted My troth to you and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord, and you became Mine.

In the following verses Ezekiel describes how Jerusalem is cleaned and clothed in splendour. Note how YHVH announces that Jerusalem was made perfect in His sight when He had put on her His majesty and splendour.

Ezekiel 16:14 “And your renown went forth among the nations for your beauty, for it was perfect through My majesty and splendour which I had put upon you, says the Lord God.”

This union with, and manifestation of, His glory cannot be comprehended with the mind of man; it can only be discerned spiritually. This is most evident in times when the spirit-soul of a born again human enter into a time to worship Him in spirit and in truth; to worship Him in the beauty of His holiness, presenting the glory in us to Him as a sacrifice. The fruit of the seed given in us becomes our honour that clothes us with Christ, making us welcome at the marriage supper.

The Lord sends His servants, the angels to surround and serve those who have His glory inside of them.

Hebrews 1:7 “… who make His angels winds and His ministering servants flames of fire…” (1:14) “Are not the angels all ministering spirits sent out in the service of those who are to inherit salvation?”

The spiritual world becomes very real to those that enter in through the fail. But even if you don’t see them, know that they are there. Acknowledge them for their presence and obedience to the Lord. They are there because you have inside of you a treasure called the glory of the living God. The presence of the glory humbles them and should humble us to. The angels are curious to see what we are doing because of the glory of God that rests upon us … most of all it should draw us into His presence to worship.
